Privacy policy

Quest.Dog (quest.dog) is an app for walks and quests to enjoy with your dog. This page describes what data is collected, why, and what you can do with it.

What data?

What for?

Only to run the app. No advertising, no profiling, and your data is neither sold nor shared for commercial purposes.

Where is it hosted?

On Infomaniak servers, in Switzerland — including the map background (tiles.quest.dog) and the route and loop computation: when you ask for a route, your start and end points never leave our infrastructure, and no third-party service sees them. The map data itself remains © OpenStreetMap and OpenMapTiles. Emails (account confirmation) are sent via Infomaniak too.

Third-party services

For how long?

As long as your account exists. The photos you add (dog photo, quest proofs) are kept until you delete them yourself or delete your account — they are never deleted automatically. GPS traces are purged after 30 days; server backups are kept for 14 days.

Your rights

You can view and edit your data directly in the app. You can delete your account yourself (Profile → Delete my account): all your personal data — profile, dogs, history, photos — is deleted immediately, and disappears from backups within 14 days. The places you created stay on the map but are no longer linked to anyone (anonymized community content). Your nickname and place notes, however, are deleted with your account — they are free text, not map objects. If you no longer have the app, you can also delete your account at quest.dog/delete-account.

No third-party cookies, no trackers. The app only keeps your login token in your device's local storage.
